Bears.

Okay, so despite my big fear of camping by myself and then going hiking and getting eaten by bears, I didn't see any real live ones this trip. I can't claim that I didn't see bears though. The mountains sure love bear things, I guess they don't get enough of the real ones. One of the places that had a lot of them was this amazing little resort that I noticed on my way up the 88, and decided that I would stop on the way back down for lunch. Sorensens Resort is an adorable little slice of heaven, and they have the most adorable little bears all over the property. After I had a yummy sandwich, I walked around and found some of them.

A little bit down the road, I stopped at another place that had tons of carved wood sculptures, including this waving bear...

And while it isn't a bear...I just really loved these roadside flowers

Hot Wood

Grover Hot Springs State Park

While I will post many of the pictures from my trip over the next few months, I wanted to get this up, and make this more of a current events in my life type of blog again. I went camping a couple of weeks ago, and it was amazing. I loved camping during the week and camping by myself. I have now vowed at least one solo trip to the Sierras every year, and sworn a lifetime commitment to explore as much of those forests as possible. It was that amazing. Check out all the pictures from my Grover Hot Springs adventure here.
