Burning Woman

Me in the Mirrored Mosaic

While identity on the playa is a loose concept, often changing for each person on the turn of the wind, the sociological presence of sexuality and gender as driving forces still seem to find a way to influence with hearty determination. It's fascinating what traits become the majority in a self-created cultural commune. The environment is much more accepting and encouraging, laying out a culture of safety and tolerance for generic open opinions on a breadth of lifestyles. It's hard as a social scientist to not go below the surface to rip apart the motivations of people to live their lives on a given path, no matter what the environment. Black Rock City is my wonderland of quiet contemplation and case study.
